How it works

What happens when you use this site, in the order it happens — including what we do with your information and how we get paid.

  1. You read up

Our guides explain how final expense policies work and what the differences between level, graded, and guaranteed issue coverage mean for your family. Nothing here requires you to give us any information.

  2. You ask to be connected

If you want real numbers, you contact us or respond to one of our advertisements. We may ask basic questions — such as your age range and state — so we can route you to a partner licensed to help you.

  3. A licensed agent follows up

We pass your request to a licensed insurance agent or agency. They ask about your health and coverage needs, then quote actual products from carriers they represent.

  4. You decide, or you don't

Compare offers, read the policy, ask questions, take your time. There is no obligation to buy and no cost to you for the referral.

What happens to your information

We want this to be unsurprising, so here it is directly:

  • When you request information, the details you give us — such as your name, contact details, age range, and state — are shared with one or more licensed insurance partners so they can respond to you.
  • Under California law and several other state privacy laws, that sharing may be considered a sale or sharing of personal information. You have the right to opt out. Opt out here, or read the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
  • If you call a number in one of our advertisements, that call may be routed and recorded through a call tracking service so we know which advertisement produced the call.
  • You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing privacy@burialbenefitcenter.com.

How we are paid

Burial Benefit Center is free to use because our partners pay us. We receive compensation from licensed agents, agencies, and marketing partners when we refer a consumer — generally when you request information or connect with a partner by phone.

Two things follow from that, and you should know both:

  • Compensation may affect which partners we work with and the order in which they appear. It does not affect what our educational content says.
  • It costs you nothing. You do not pay us a fee, and going through us does not raise the premium you would otherwise be quoted.

What we cannot do: we cannot quote you a rate, tell you whether you qualify, approve or deny an application, or bind coverage. Those are decisions for a licensed agent and the insurance carrier. Anyone claiming otherwise on our behalf is not speaking for us — please tell us about it.
